THE FORUM 4 IS COMING SOON! This year’s The Forum will tackle the gripping subject of the Bali9 and legalised killing in Indonesia. Indonesia’s president, Joko Widodo, has made the decision to decline Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran’s plea for mercy.
We will discuss the reasons behind this and how it has affected the relationship between Indonesia and Australia. This year we are proud to have our speakers, Allan Patience and Denny Indrayana. Patience is currently a Principal Fellow in Political Science at University of Melbourne’s Asia Institute. His specialty of work is in Australian foreign policy, specifically in the Asia Pacific region. Indrayana is a renowned Indonesian activist and is currently a Professorial Fellow at The University of Melbourne as well as a law professor at The University of Gadjah Mada. He was the former Vice Minister of Law and Human Rights in Indonesia, and served as President Yudhoyono’s special advisor for legal affairs, human rights, and anticorruption matters.
So join us in this FREE engaging discussion about Indonesia’s law and politics this upcoming 26TH APRIL 2017! Be sure to keep an eye out on our social media pages for more information!
